New and used clothing, household goods, appliances, furniture, electronics, toys and tools fill the shelves at Thrift Mart in Ocoee, Florida. Its motto is "locals helping locals," and part of its sales goes to Locals Helping Locals, a nonprofit that supports people in need in the community. The store's mission is to raise money by reducing, reusing and recycling donated items, then turning those donations into cash for local charities.
Donations can be dropped off during business hours or left in the outdoor bin, and pickup is offered for large items. All donations are tax-deductible. The store is open five days a week. Its white building has green and navy trim with peaked accents, and furniture is set out along the walkway under the green canopy.
